Danish business executives have challenged their Tanzanian counterparts to strive to meet Danish quality standards to increase trade between the two countries.
They said in Dar es Salaam that Tanzanian products could attract Danish consumers provided standards were met.
According to Mr Jens Klaskov of the Danish Chamber of Commerce, the best way to narrow the trade imbalance between the two countries that favours Denmark is for Tanzanian exporters to improve the quality of exports.
He cited agriculture and export of raw materials as among areas with abundant opportunities for trade and investment between the two countries.
The Danish business executives were in a delegation of Queen Margrethe II.
"We are pleased to see that Tanzania has one of the best business opportunities due to the stability of the country politically and economically. This is the most important factor for us," said Mr Klaskov during a visit to Serengeti Breweries.
He said Tanzania's other competitive edges included a vast labour market.
Serengeti Breweries marketing official Bahati Singh said the delegation visited their plant because the brewery produces a Danish product, Vita Malt Plus.
